Technical features

Care and maintenance
Staron® is a compact material of easy maintenance, made by solid and homogeneous acrylic mineral polymer. Following few easy solutions this material will looks like new for many years.

Model of maintenance for flat surfaces and sinks
Using soap and water or an ammonia-based cleaner (for example a glass cleaner product). Rinse the surface with a humid cloth and then dry the surface.

Removal of difficult stains
Dull surfaces: Using an abrasive cleaner and a green scourer as "Scotch-Brite".
Satiny Surfaces: Using dilute light bleach and a white scourer as "Scotch-Brite".
Bright surfaces: using a sponge instead of a scourer and a powder cleaner.

Disinfect surfaces and sinks
Using from time to time dilute bleach (in proportion of 1/1 water/bleach) to disinfect.

Removal of cuts and scratches
Dull surfaces: Rub the surface with a sandpaper of grain 180 (120 micron) or of grain 220 (60 micron) until it is completely smooth; then use an abrasive cleaner and a green scourer as "Scotch-Brite".
Satiny surfaces: Rub the surface with a sandpaper of grain 400 (30 micron); then use a non-abrasive cleaner and a white scourer as "Scotch-Brite®".
Bright surfaces: Rub the surface with a sandpaper of grain 400 (30 micron) or 600 (20 micron); polish with a polishing machine suitable for wood at low speed (1500-2000 rpm);then wax the surface.
It’s recommended to do all these operations of cleaning with circular movements.

Damages prevention
In almost all the cases of damage, Staron® can be easily repaired. Even so, we recommended to follow these rules in order to avoid permanent damages.

Damages caused by heat
Even though Staron® has a high resistance to heat compared to other materials commonly used for surfaces of work, if it comes into contact for a long period of time with very warm cooking tools, as well as devices which generate heat as fryers or warm pots, the surface of Staron® can be damaged. It is also strongly recommended to avoid the prolonged exposure of Staron® to temperatures higher than 80ºC (170ºF).

Other damages:
Avoid the use of strong chemical products such as chemical strippers or cleaners for ovens on Staron®. If Staron®  comes into contact with these products, it is necessary to wash well the surface with abundant water. The prolonged contact with strong chemical products can stain the surface or partially break it.
- Do not cut directly on a Staron® surface .
- Use a cutting table
- Run cold water when pouring boiling water into sinks
- Remove nail polish with a non-acetone-based nail polish remover and rinse with abundant water.
